How dee doo dee

Hello, I'm Lisa.

I'm absolutely passionate about all things sewing. I've been dressmaking for over thirty years now and I love to set myself new challenges so I can learn more and more.

Cloth is my addiction, especially beautiful one off vintage finds. My makes are pretty much always colourful and a lot use my favourite bold floral designs.

I've been writing my blog for over nine years now and love to share every aspect of my creative life with my two daughters Rosey and Millie.  I wind down by crocheting, Knitting, baking, painting furniture and searching for vintage treasures for our home.

I have sold my designs at vintage markets, a makers market which I set up years ago and through my etsy shop. My most popular make is my Happy Shopper Bag made from beautiful vintage barkcloth.

I qualified as an English lecturer after having first studied Art & Design. I've
been lucky in being able to bring these skills together to teach creative workshops which I love to do. Theres nothing better than being able to share my creative passion with others and help them learn the skills as well.

Thanks for reading and if you fancy seeing more, you can find me on instagram by clicking the link on my blog where I share what I'm making that week.

  1. Hi Lisa! Just came across you on the Minerva website. I've read some of your blog and find a kindred spirit in you! Lately I've been adrift with my sewing but upon seeing your idea of making items from vintage fabrics, a cog turned and fell into place and a light bulb switched on! This appeals to me a lot and I am now moving forward with my sewing with a purpose! Thanks very much for your inspiring blog!

Thanks for stopping by and leaving me a comment. I read all of them and really appreciate you taking the time to say hello.
I always try to get back and reply, but sometimes this may take a bit longer as pets and children always seem to need attention around here.
