Little Bun daytrips to the 40's

On Wednesday evening my C21st girlie toasted marshmallows by the fire full of excitement about her trip back to the 40's the next day.

Bright and early the next morning her transformation to an evacuee from Bethnal Green was complete.

Her gas mask box and handwritten name label were all waiting for her at school before they boarded the bus to the train station. Little Bun was thrilled that she was picked to live with her friend Gabs because they looked a strong pair. The man who picked them was the singer of a 40's group we love listening to. Little Bun told him how she liked his singing which I think swung the deal.

She had a fabulous day and said she would have loved to stay there. As daft as her parents about the past too then.

Overnight it all went horribly wrong for our lovely girl. From midnight on she was constantly being violently sick. By midday today she brought up green bile which worried me a hell of a lot. We're having tests to see why she has so many stomach pains and a swollen tummy at the moment anyway so I went into appearing calm, but inside panicking mode. I managed to get a Dr to see her later on who gave her the all clear, reassured me that gastro-enteritis is doing the rounds so nothing sinister to worry about apparently. Now it looks as if she won't be able to dance in her show tommorow night. Fingers crossed really tightly for a full recovery by tommorow night as we're all feeling so disappointed for her.

  2. She looked wonderful - love the plaits and her cheeky grin. Hope she feels much better soon. Try not to worry too much the green bile was cause her tummy was empty. I had it several years ago after a dodgy chinese. I took oral rehydration salts as soon as I could keep them down which helped a lot. Karen xx

  9. Lisa, she looks fantastic, you've done a great job there! She really does suit the 1940s! Can you imaging how awful it must have been for families to have been broken apart, doesn't bare thinking about,
I'm glad she's feeling better, Little Bea is the same, lots of tummy grumbles, I think it's just how some people are but it can be very worrying. I hope she soon makes a full recovery, have a great weekend! :)

  17. I do hope Little Bun makes a quick recovery and can do her dancing. We have an anti viral/bacterial hand spray by the front door and every time we go out we use it.I don't know whether it works but it makes us feel better.hubby has no spleen so we have to be careful.

  20. lovely posting...that fire...bliss!!!!hope little bun gets better soon~ she looks beautiful in her outfit...Bethnal green is a childhood fav, im sure its there where my nanny would take us to the museum of childhood- my nanny lived & worked in london in a factory-her factory was even bombed...i love the museums in london a real insight into how things were and the visual education is really important for children to see and understand- its better than it all out of books~ we only did victorian days at my school, but very fond memories of chapel railways with everyone dressed the part xx

Thanks for stopping by and leaving me a comment. I read all of them and really appreciate you taking the time to say hello.
I always try to get back and reply, but sometimes this may take a bit longer as pets and children always seem to need attention around here.
